Man surrenders after allegations of domestic abuse

No one, not a mother, father or child, should have to deal with domestic violence in the home. It's a devastating situation to deal with, and it's harmful physically and psychologically.

Domestic violence is something people may struggle to get away from, but the reality is that it's necessary to break free of the vicious cycle of abuse. Domestic violence cases can involve the police, like in this case out of California.

A man in Marina surrendered to the police when he was accused of battering a girlfriend. The 37-year-old man had a warrant put out for his arrest, stating that the man was armed and dangerous. He willingly surrendered to police after they released information on his vehicle and provided photos to the public.

Cases can become complicated when they involve domestic violence, and they may have a "he-said-she-said" feel to them. However, if you accuse a husband or wife of abusing you physically or psychologically, the best you can hope for is the police getting them to willingly surrender after harming you.

Many people are able to obtain temporary (and possibly permanent) restraining orders or protective orders against violent or manipulative individuals. If your life is in danger, or if you can't seem to get away from your spouse without being threatened, it's important to call the police and seek help.

You deserve a chance to live a life without the fear of being abused or hurt by your partner. Both men and women struggle with domestic abuse, so no matter who you are, you should speak up.
